Two big shows, One dinky one!

We are genuinely pleased to announce we are promoting 3 more great gigs in Reading! And to be fair, we are spoiling you!

First up lets start with the little one, although the only way this is ‘little’ is the size of the venue, the bill is HUGE! For the first ever LIVE gig in Reading’s MILK we have convinced Mr B Dolan take a day off from his tour with Scroobius Pip, and raise Milk‘s rickety roof! Supporting him is Strange Famous Records scratch master, and beat masher, Buddy Peace, with dan le sac destroying the decks for some after show fun. Capacity is 70 is be sure to grab tickets while you can!

WHO    - B Dolan (live) / Buddy Peace (live MPC set) / dan le sac (dj set)
DATE    - March 15th
VENUE – Milk (formally Afrobar), Reading
PRICE  - £4 (wegottickets) (Over 18s ONLY)

Now lets see what we can produce for our next trick!….

Yes indeedy, the Moshi Moshi Records 2 piece, Slow Club are coming to SUB89, Reading, on May 7th! We, with the help of Intertain, are really glad we’ve managed to convince Slow Club to come to town! The Sheffield duo put on a bizarre & beautiful show, from the conventional drums & guitar combinations, to Rebecca (the girl one!) playing water filled glasses, or chairs, or whatever she finds!

Exciting, yeah?

WHO    - Slow Club / Support TBC
DATE    - May 7th
VENUE – SUB89, Reading
PRICE  - £10adv (tickets) (14+)

And next?

The Rough Trade signings, Howler, have been bubbling away on the blogs for the last year(ish), so I’m really excited that (with the help of Intertain again!) we’ve got them coming to Reading! Their sound is fused between 60′s American pop & 80′s Punk, with influences coming from all over, with Lou Reed, The Cramps & The Replacements winning out! This is part of a very short run of UK dates to support their album “America Give Up”, so get on it before everyone else does!

WHO    - Howler / Support TBC
DATE    - May 14th
VENUE – SUB89, Reading
PRICE  - £8adv (tickets) (14+)

Who’s in? If there is ever a band you want us to bring to town, drop us a line on the Dumb Drum Facebook, we can but try!

New site, still a bit temporary!

So it’s been a few months since we released our first long player, Kid Carpet “Songs From Repo Chick”, and to be honest the summer has been a little quiet in Dumb Drum towers, that is all set to change now we’re about to announce so gigs!

And it’s these gigs that have inspired the move to WordPress.org, we need a site that could be updated regularly without digging through code, so this was the only option. The only problem we have now is learning enough CSS to make the site look a little less generic, but that can wait, it’s the content that matters right?
